Ragproper designed their flask around a simple yet effective way of storing spirits; glass and cork. Unlike metal flasks, the glass flask will not change the flavor of the alcohol and neither will the cork seal. Since the flask is made from glass, this flask works great for filling up and storing in your EDC backpack or weekender duffle. When you purchase your flask, it will come with two lids; one plastic, which works best if you need to get past a metal detector, and a metal one, which provides more durability. The metal lid is actually just the same plastic lid inserted into a larger metal cap. The metal lid is much more visually appealing against the leather flask; however, I have found that it does press into the upper leather cover a bit. This very well could be due to some manufacturing inconsistencies, but nonetheless, it is one downside of the design. This one flaw does concern me that it will eventually cut into and wear away at the leather cover, but so far this has not happened in my use of the flask.
The leather on the top and bottom of the flask is a bit thinner than the leather that wraps around the sides. The leather is very nice quality and has a great feel in your hand. The leather is also stitched and (I believe) glued on so it is not removable. Because of this, you have to be careful when washing or rinsing out your flask as to not dry out the leather over time. All of the cut and exposed edges of leather look to be sealed with some sort of plastic which will help keep the leather from fraying and drying out.
There is a good sized view port on both the front and back of the flask that allows you to see how much of your spirit is left. This also helps when filing the flask up and prevents you from over filling and spilling. Also included with the flask is an easy-pour funnel. Part of the funnel has a ridge to it in order to allow airflow out of the flask and there is no waiting for the liquid to slowly drain into the flask. The overall size and slight cover of the 100ml flask fits perfectly in the back pocket of the average pant pocket, even though it is thicker than your typical metal flask. I think the 100ml size is optimal, but the 240ml flask would probably be better if you planned to be sharing drinks with friends.
I would definitely recommend buying this modern flask!
