Redefining Water Bottles – Memobottle Slim

Memobottle, an innovative Australian company, has captured the attention of eco-conscious consumers with their unique approach to water bottle design. Their mission extends beyond mere hydration; it’s about reshaping our relationship with single-use consumption and advocating for environmental stewardship. Memobottle is committed to making a positive impact on the planet. As a supporter of Water.org and a member of B Corp, they’re dedicated to raising awareness about the environmental consequences of single-use plastics and promoting sustainable alternatives. With every Memobottle purchase, you’re not just investing in a sleek accessory but also contributing to a cause that’s striving to make a difference.

What sets this brand apart is its unconventional sizing, inspired by paper dimensions such as A5, A6, and A7. Available in both plastic and stainless steel variants for sizes A5, A6, A7, and Slim, the bottles offer versatility and practicality. The inclusion of colorful sleeves and caps for the plastic version adds a touch of customization, while the stainless steel option exudes elegance in classic white or black. It’s important to note that stainless versions of each size choice are slightly larger.

The Memobottle’s slender profile allows it to slide effortlessly into bags and pockets, making it the perfect companion for on-the-go lifestyles. Whether you’re commuting to work or jet-setting across the globe, the bottle’s slim design ensures that hydration is always within reach. It’s necessary to point out that due to the bottle’s unique shape, they can’t stand upright on a flat surface. In response to this, Memobottle now offers a desk stand for those who prefer to not leave their bottles laying flat on a desk or table (currently available for the plastic versions only).

My personal experience with the Memobottle began with their Kickstarter campaign for the stainless steel variant of the Slim. The stainless Memobottle is nice because it’s easily able to house both hot and cold liquids. However, being that they are single-walled, this bottle isn’t going to keep your drink hot or cold for extended periods of time. While I have also appreciated its sleek design and sturdy construction, I encountered some issues with the o-ring in the cap, as it is easily dislodged, making it easy to lose track of. Despite this drawback, I found the bottle to be convenient for travel, slipping seamlessly into packed backpacks and bags. The small opening makes for easy drinking during travel by reducing the risk of spillage.

I have also found that the coating on the bottle tends to scratch easily, but I see it as adding character rather than detracting from its appeal and this isn’t an issue that’s isolated to this brand of bottles. It’s worth noting that the plastic version may offer a better user experience in this sense, and the issues I encountered could have been specific to the Kickstarter batch. Overall, Memobottle presents a compelling solution for those seeking a stylish, sustainable alternative to traditional water bottles. While it may have its quirks, its commitment to environmental advocacy and innovative design make it a worthy addition to any eco-conscious individual’s essentials.
